This is a demo of a function called "Now On Tap",
which is coming to the new browser when it is released.
It is an extension of Google Now,
extending the things you read about.
It sounds simple but
it requires more understanding than you might think.

But to a computer that sentence is just a collection of words.
It doesn't actually mean anything. Well,
the aim is to make computers understand that
these were directionally people, places and other things,
and crucially that they all interconnect.
This is what Google calls the knowledge graph.

［後書き1：VR端末］
“空想を映像として再現可能になる”、それがVRです。101（各
種入門の手引き）としての映像開発、特に学習分野に狙いを定めた
製品開発が進むことでしょう。Clickの昨年の放送では、車の修理に
ヘッドセットを使って修理法を習う様子が特集されていました。
用途の発案に際限はありません。ひょっとすると、国内にVRを取り
扱った新たな企業家・事業家が続々と現れるようになるかもしれま
せんね。
［後書き2：解釈の揺れる言葉"start-ups"］
今回登場した単語"start-ups"は、以前の"fishbowling"と同じ理由で
Weblio等の辞書サイトに掲載されていないのだと思いましたが、どう
やら違うようです。"起業"という点では間違いありません。しかし、
大衆に認知されている“ベンチャー”とは全く異なるものだと見解を
示している記事・サイトが多く挙がっています。Dlifeでは単純に“ベ
ンチャー”と訳を入れていましたが、その訳し方が正しいとも言い切
れません。"革新的な企業""革新的なベンチャー"と訳を入れれば、何
が革新的なのか疑問を生じさせることで、多少は誤魔化せたかもしれ
ません。何れにせよ、正確な日本語訳が存在しない・認知されていな
い単語であることに変わりはありません。
［後書き3：サンフランシスコの革新的サービス業？］
放送でサンフランシスコの様々なサービス業がピックアップされて
いました。

・WiFi有料提供オフィスカフェ
・大麻宅配サービス
・洗濯物代行サービス
・食料購入代行サービス
・呼び出し両替サービス（現地で不発に終わる）
・低所得者への代行支援サービス（組織名："Handup"）

どれも奇抜なサービスです。共通するのは、サンフランシスコが酷く
IT業界に偏った世界だという点でしょう。格差が酷くなれば自然と犯
罪率が高くなるのではと、犯罪率について調査しましたが、意外にも
高い水準・数値ではありませんでした。（以下参照）
恐らく、番組で紹介されていたホームレス無償支援のシャワー台車や
"Handup"のような仲介支援サービスが存在することが、サンフランシ
スコの犯罪発生率低減に貢献しているのかもしれませんね。

［後書き4：犯罪発生率と言えば…］
伏字です。"犯罪発生率"と言えば、SFC版のシムシティです。最も簡
素化された遊びやすい設計が施されたゲームソフトです。犯罪発生率を
抑えるために警察署を多めに設置し、警察20か所に対して消防署1つの
"火災に酷く弱い町"を作って遊んでいた記憶があります。税率5%で年々
赤字を積み重ね、一杯一杯になったらゴジラと竜巻を呼び寄せて街を終
焉させることが、私の愉しみになっていました。
…何か心に冷たい風を感じましたが、気のせいでしょう。
